They shouted, "This one's going to be a BEAST!"
Stories surfaced of hurricanes of the past.
The news reporters were here and in their glory,
Category 1 or 2 where everything could take flight.
Or maybe, just maybe it would stay off shore,
And really be a lot of hype, and just a snore.
We awoke to see what might have been uprooted,
The strength of the non-storm might have been disputed,
But as I looked outside to see in the early dawn,
I noticed all of 3 twigs had fallen on my lawn.

well look at you all rhyming!!! LOL cute post and so glad you all escaped major damage!
aren't you poetic! :)
glad he didn't live up to the hype!!!
I was a bit disappointed that we didn't at least get a little rain from Earl, but relieved that he was overall harmless.
Well good morning Dr. Seuss! :) Glad you didn't get walloped too badly! (Um, in fact, SE is getting strong winds today. I'm willing to bet I'll have more than three sticks in *my* yard when I get home today!)
With all those reporters up there I expected to see you pop up behind them on camera :)
Glad you are ok and it was a snoozer hurricane! :)
Three twigs! You have some massive cleanup ahead. ;) So glad it wound itself down. I was worried.
That was cute! Yeah, it sounds like Earl was a dud, which is probably a good thing. My family still lives in Mass. and my mom said they just got some rain. It's funny (kind of) when the forecasters and news people get it so wrong!
Over rated... I just hope the next storm people dont take it lightly because of this miss. Glad you didnt have a lot to clean up. I had more sticks on my lawn up here in NH...
I told your Mom Earl was going to be a wus.
Your poem gave it some class, though!
Still...PHEW!!!
Whenever we are under a hurricane warning, we look out for Jim Cantore of the Weather Channel. If he doesn't show up, it means we're safe.
I'm glad Earl was a wimp.
C'mon now... those three twigs could have done a lot of damage if they hit in the right spot. Or something.
Love the tape job though - I think it was beautifully creative :)
I love your poems. :)
Glad the storm BLEW over! haha
