Galloping to Galveston...

What an exciting weekend of jump roping!!! Our team was at the Regional meet in NH. We were trying to qualify kids to go to the nationals in Galveston, Texas.
There was teamwork (lots of it!)

Deep concentration!

Many smiles!

Parents being fired and rehired as judges!

Leaping, flying, soaring....

And of course proud sisters watching.

B and I are going to Galveston in June for the Nationals. 10 of the 13 kids from our team that were there advanced. All of our 13 kids won ribbons! Even our coach placed in 2 events! You know for the 'old timers category' (the kid's words, not mine!).

The best 1st grade teacher in the world, whom I did my student teaching with, came and watched some of the action. Thankfully, it was a slow part, so we could catch up on things. It seems like we worked together 3 years ago, but in reality it was over 15! Ugh, time does fly! She is as cute and energetic as ever and now retired. How any first grade kid is going to learn anything without her in Carlisle is beyond me! Thank you Daryl for coming and visiting! And thank you Steven for being patient, we had a lot of ground to cover!

My mom was a trooper, too. We were in the gym with the kids from 7:30 am until 6:30 pm!!! It was definitely a LLLOOOONNNNNGGGGG day!

Long day or not, B is doing the 'galloping to Galveston' dance she has made up and probably won't stop until we land there in June!

Giddy-up!

YEA for B and her team! They were cheerleaders for each other and had a wonderful time. The parents were wonderful also and were there for every kid. I wonder if Texas is ready for them? The butt is feeling better today, thanks to the stadium comfy seat Sue bought for me! You go Lightfoots!!! Nana
