Town Politics

My sister and I had to go to the Selectmen's meeting tonight to request a one day alcohol permit for the Maritime Festival.
This should have been a 5 minute task, except that we were not first on the agenda. Seems famous elected officials trump small town minutia. So this is how the meeting went...

"Let's approve the minutes from blah blah. Ok, approved. Blah blahblah, Recycle Fest, blah, blah, blah, transfer station, blah, blah, blah, blah, county commission, blah, blah, blah, a game of hangman between me and my sister, blah, blah, blah, a text message from our mom saying that we looked bored in the audience (well, duh, we were!) blah, blah, regionalizing towns, blah blah, Karen, please come up. Can we have a one day liquor license? Please, we promise to be responsible. Well, Ok, you can have it. Phew."

Then we proceeded  to the bar. Some meetings deserve to be celebrated!

Blah, blah, blah, drink! That's all that matters is that a drink made it in there.
