frag'n Friday!

Mommy's Idea

It's that time of the week where we put all our thoughts together like pieces in a puzzle.

*Why do my kids look like they are walking into a slaughter house when I drop them off at school? Wouldn't you love to watch kids skip and laugh on their way in to school? I guess it would look too much like the movies if that were the case.

*I videoed the girls pretending to do jumprope tricks. B's was hysterical because she farted in the middle of it and kept going while saying, "Ooops, sorry, I farted". I couldn't ruin her rep and put that on youtube for the world to see. (Even though she wanted me to.)

*It has been a tough week in the middle school here. A father of 2 middle schoolers committed suicide. That has brought on many conversations that none of us wanted to explain to our kids at this age. Because our school is so small, everyone knows everyone.

*I got this lovely award from Evansmom and I neglected to put it up on my blog! Whoops. I love it because it is so bright and cheery. Go check out Evansmom if you haven't, she is worth it! I am suppose to list 12 people to give this too, but I am a rule breaker and would prefer you all to have it. I know, the bloggy police will probably put me in detention.

*The FDA Commissioner's name is Dr. Hamburg. Really, could that be more perfect? She was talking about a food recall today.

*Justine asked me in one of my skiing posts about why my dad was so tan. My dad is like and East Coast George Hamilton. The man will lay out in the garage in the winter to get some sun (without wind). He loves spring skiing just for the tanning and reflecting opportunities. Does he use lotion? Well kinda. He has always used the orange paste Ban de Soleil. It has about a 4SPF and is ridiculously hard to find now. Hmmm, I do love the smell of it though!

*Oh, one last thing. I signed up for Blogher in NYC. Anyone else?

Happy weekend!

The kids only do the smiling and laughing and skipping (ok, maybe not the skipping) on the way OUT of school. They ALL adopt the same face/posture on the way in. It's like they've all practiced the same look.

I don't envy you the discussion about suicide. How sad for everyone.

I remember the tanning lotion, but don't remember the smell . . .

B is hysterical!

I love the look of the award. I could use more sunshine!

As far as BlogHer is concerned, I'd love to go to NYC, but alas so many things have gotten in the way. Have a great time!

Aw, come on, I wanna see/hear her fart while jump roping! It's just not fair to tell us about it but not show.

SPF 4, huh? Wow, he's really really cautious. Heeheeheeee

I'd be too afraid to go to one of those blog conventions. I guess as a bystander it would be okay, but hell, I wouldn't have the money to get there.

Justine :o )

OMG-That's funny (the jumprope fart) She could make some money on America's Funniest Home Videos!

The suicide-so terrible. My college roommate's dad killed himself when she was a teenager. It screwed her up forever. So sad...

So, your dad's a tanorexic, huh? Funny.

Melisa is so funny...

I'm going to Blogher! Can't wait!

I'm sorry for the loss in the school comunity. It's always tough to explain these things to kids.

Also think the jumprope video would be hysterical!
