Oh, What a Weekend!

The weekend was one I had been anticipating for awhile. It was going to be crazy and fun and way busy, but I knew we could get through it with lots of smiles!! Thankfully, we did!

First up, Friday night was Prom. P, my AFS Chilean daughter, was taking K (freshman). Both girls were very excited and went through transformations. I think K's was the most dramatic....

From beautiful curls,

To beautiful mermaid,

To 2 lovely ladies!

After taking hundreds of pictures (you think I am kidding?), B and I headed to the Red Nun for dinner. This is a pic of B and her friend M who have been friends since birth! His family was there recovering from Prom Prep, also.

Then after a night of post prom activities, P was in a fencing competition on 2 hours sleep and came in 3rd! Her first international medal!

Then Sunday, we headed to Gibbet Hill Farm for my brother and sister-in-law's baby shower. They are having a boy and since my dad is the 3rd and my brother the 4th, we have nicknamed him 5. Let's hope they figure out how to use all the great presents they got yesterday. My brother couldn't imagine the amount of blankets and what he was suppose to do with them all. Just you wait!

That is it, all wrapped up in a tidy post. Oh, and K was a horse show yesterday while we were at the shower. No pics of that since my camera and I were at the shower. She had a few seconds and a third! Time to unearth my kitchen table and do some laundry! Was your weekend busy?

Halloween Horse Show

Halloween weekend kicked off Friday afternoon with a special Halloween horse show! The girls dressed up themselves and their horses. K was an Arabian princess riding her camel, Simba. B is not so into riding so she was ribbon girl! Everyone won first place! They paraded around the neighborhood and then came back for the egg and spoon race. Remember as a kid when you had to run with an egg on a spoon? Well try doing that on horseback! K's egg broke all over her saddle!

It's always good manors for your camel to kiss your goat.

OK, now I have Miley Cyrus' song "Hoedown Throwdown" going through my head....

Straight from the Horses Ass

The Budweiser Horses came to Cape Cod this week! If you have ever seen a Clydesdale (or had a Bud) you would know how exciting this was! Clydesdales are HUGE horses and are beautiful, too. We went to see them in Hyannis in the KMart parking lot where they were under a viewing tent for a few days. They had just fed the horses, so we got the ass view while the people that fed them got the pretty head view. Nothing like 8 asses staring at you.

Fast forward to Saturday when they were scheduled to parade down Chatham's mainstreet. We went and saw them getting lined up in front of the Bud carriage. This took F-O-R-E-V-E-R, by the way. But it was interesting to see how patient the horses were getting all geared up. (More patient than I ever would have been!)

Here are the first 2 of the 8.
Is this not a beautiful horse?!

2 more added on....The garb they were wearing was quite fancy and I think the horses knew how great they looked!

Their hooves were gigantic!
Here they are coming down Main Street in Chatham. Very impressive and the crowd was enormous! You would have thought the Jonas Brothers or Brad Pitt or Tom Brady was coming to town!
Sadly enough, there was no Budweiser thrown off the side of the cart to the parched fans waving.

There was, however, the infamous Dalmation sititng right up top with the drivers!
